Hi Troop 75 Ohana,
I hope you're all keeping warm and staying dry on this blustery and wet weekend. Not very desirable weather for outdoor activities. I know being able to adapt to the elements is part of Boy Scout Camping. But to a certain extent. Our first Camp of the year was cut short due to high wind. I just want to commend the Adult Leaders for making the call to cancel this camp. The safety of our Scout's is our number one priority at all times.
The morning started off nicely, sunshine and a beautiful rainbow. Set against the majestic Koolaus in the background. But it's amazing how Mother Nature can just turn things around. It's unfortunate, but better safe than sorry. I don't want to imagine what it would have been like if the Troop had to evacuate at night. Especially if the gate had already been locked.
MUCH MAHALOS to our quick thinking Adult Leaders for pulling the plug on this Camp! Great call! You guys Da Bes! It was inconvenient that all the food had to be divided among everyone and the tarps couldn't be dried out. But that doesn't matter. The safety of all is first and foremost. I'm so thankful that everyone got out of there safely. And made it back home.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Please stay dry and keep warm! And please drive with care.
Aloha,
Mr. Al
