Hoomaluhia Camp

I hope you all had a very enjoyable weekend! We had our Annual Weeblos Over Nighter. We all know, historically, whenever we go to Hoomaluhia it always rains. And the tradition continues. We had heavy down pours at times. But they came in spurts. It was pretty overcast the entire weekend! The sun peaked through the clouds once in a while. So it was cold most of the time. Especially at night.

We promptly left the Church at 5:00 pm. We got to Hoomaluhia before 5:30. We had to line up and wait our turn to enter the Park. It was a very busy weekend for Scouting. Including Troop 75, there we're 2 other Troops there, a Cub Scout Pack and 2 Girl Scout Troops as well. The Parking Lot was full of vehicles, and the Park was busy with Scout's running about having a great time! All the Grills and Stoves going, the sounds of Scout's having a good time! It was like a Camporee!

A HUGE THANK YOU to all the Scout's, Weeblos, Adult Leaders, and Parents, and Siblings for coming out this weekend to participate in this Weeblos experience. The Weeblos had an excellent time! We did not go on the Hike for safety reasons. Instead we did some fishing in the pond. And the Scout's shared their knowledge. The Weeblos got a first hand experience of what is involved in a Camping Trip. And what the Scout's responsibilities and duties are. That was a lot of fun! New friendships we're made. And the Weeblos are very excited to cross over to Boy Scout's. We had a nice Camp Fire, with skits, jokes and full body Jan Ken Po. We roasted marsh mellows afterwards.

All of the Troops had Campfire. It was so cool to see all the Camp Fires going! Troop 329 from Kaneohe had a massive Camp Fire. That's the Troop that beat me out for our regular sites. They had 4 Camp Sites.Their fire shot over 8 feet in the air. We we're a little worried about that getting out of control. But it was all good. Because the weather was so unpredictable. The Boys decided not to play Capture the Flag, Instead they just hung out, enjoyed each others company, and entertained themselves.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Ryan Peralta of Pack 75 for organizing and coordinating the Weeblos Over Nighter. MAHALOS to Pack Parents Denise and Thomas. Thank You to Weeblos, Aiden, Daylen, Caleb and Thomas. It was a huge success! We really enjoyed hosting the Weeblos. Hopefully these Weeblos will continue their Scouting Careers with Troop 75.

A HUGE MAHALOS to Damien Boncales for purchasing the food for the Adults and Staff. HUGE THANKS to Iron Chefs, and Grill Masters Damien Boncales and Vernon Verzon for their awesome culinary skills! A HUGE THANK YOU to our Tow Masters, Todd Kaetsu and Vernon Verzon! You're always there in the clutch! You guys are money! THANK YOU to the Scout's for making the Weeblos welcome, and for sharing your knowledge and experiences with them. You guys did an outstanding job of telling them how much fun they will have, all the new things they will learn, and the adventures they will experience. Great leaderships Boy's! You guys set a very fine example! It's positive experiences like this that will make them want to continue their Scouting Careers. Great job!
